Transportation To and From Activities

We provide free transportation to and from our community integration activities, including social events, our summer program, and our Independent Life Skills classes. Contact your assigned Independent Living Coordinator to schedule transportation.

If you are not a current consumer, you can get started today by calling our front desk at (801) 373-5044. Our services are all provided free of charge, and registering is easy.

On-Demand Transportation

On-call transportation to necessary community resources such as doctor’s or dentist appointments, therapy, or grocery shopping is available for our registered consumers every Monday from 9:30am to 4:30pm. If you require transportation during the rest of the week from Tuesday to Friday, please call your Independent Living Coordinator in advance to schedule a ride. Time slots are limited by demand and driver availability, but we will do our best to meet your needs or recommend alternate resources if we cannot.

Public Transportation

Are you having trouble understanding your city’s bus schedules? Do you want to learn how to use UTA’s Paratransit service? Our staff is happy to help!

Current consumers can contact their assigned Independent Living Coordinator for information on travel training classes. If you are not a current consumer, please contact our front desk at (801) 373-5044 to schedule a brief intake assessment with an Independent Living specialist.

The Youth Transition to Adulthood program held at our Provo location is designed to help individuals with disabilities from ages 18 to 30 and includes lessons on using public transportation. We also offer similar at-school programs for youth with disabilities from ages 5 to 24. Visit this page for more details.

ADA Advocacy

If you have experienced barriers in accessing public transportation because of your disability, let us help you speak up.

Your Independent Living Coordinator can be a helpful resource in helping you resolve issues you might experience with accessibility, as well as contacting responsible parties to make changes for more inclusive public transportation. Learn more about systems change advocacy here.

You can find Utah Transit Authority’s accessibility complaint form here. Alternatively, you can contact UTA’s Civil Rights Compliance Officer, Amanda Salmon, at (801) 287-3536.
