Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities include the following responsibilities:
- Newsletter mailing assistance
- Weekly clerical support for Ability 1st Utah staff members
- Implementing activities for annual events
- General office projects
- Organization and sanitation of loan bank equipment
- Unpaid internships
- Transportation services
- Peer mentoring
Volunteers must complete an application and provide three character references. Upon being accepted, volunteers must also successfully complete a fingerprint and background check and a volunteer orientation class.
Ability 1st Board of Directors
Ability 1st Utah Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers from the communities in our center’s service area and provides governance and direction for the center. As a federal mandate, our Board of Directors must be made up of at least 51% individuals with disabilities.
