How Can We Help?

Ability 1st’s role in providing our Information and Referral service is to act as an advocate and resource on behalf of our consumers.

We are connected with numerous local organizations that provide behavioral and mental health therapy, home care services, medical devices, social opportunities, and more, as well as state and federal programs that offer financial aid and health insurance options. If you are in need of a service that we do not provide, we will happily offer referrals to the organizations we feel will be the most helpful to you.

We urge consumers to proactively reach out to these referrals, since that is a significant part of the ethic of independent self-determination. We will follow up as well to make sure that the resource was beneficial in meeting your needs.

If we can’t help you meet your needs, we will help you find someone who can.
